Explanation to Spursfan about Swamp Coolers. by tucsonmike on 6 May 2008 4:47am

Anne brought this up on Facebook, but I thought I would answer it here.

Swamp Coolers are found in the Southwestern United States. They are a cooling system for your home that draws on water. The water cools wooden pads down which are in front of a fan that blows the air into the house.

They only work in dry climates and are less expensive than air conditioners. If the humidity rises above a certain point however, they are next to useless.

Thanks for that Mike.

I have never heard of them before.

LOL kazzzz, a 'swamp donkey' ? You have to admit that whoever called you that, at least has an imaginative choice of words ! Tell me who it was and I'll get 'Ray' to floor them !
( for those of you that don't know, kazzzz is a very beautiful woman, so someone was struggling for words ! )
