The Chatter Box : Blathering On
Rupert Grint by sighthound on 30 July 2008 6:28am
I just caught the last half of a film ("Driving Lessons") featuring Rupert Grint (acting against his "Harry Potter" mum, Julie Waters.) From the first of the Harry Potter films I've thought that Grint could become one of the best actors of his generation and his performance in "Driving Lessons" confirms my first impression.

But actors need stage work to grow. "Driving Lessons" is the only non-"Harry Potter" thing I've seen Grint do. Is he doing any stage work in the UK?

I so hope that he will be able to leave the "child star" label behind and become the great actor he could be.

And for you young ones, please check out Julie Waters' (the Weasleys' mom) performance in "Educating Rita". Good film, great performance.

Oh I love Julie Walters, she's fantastic in everything I've seen her in. I loved her in Billy Elliott, and also Educating Rita.

Not to mention Dinnerladies (Petula - by far the funniest thing in it!) and Acorn Antiques (Mrs Overall).

And she is PERFECT as Mrs Molly Weasley in the Harry Potter films!!

Oh yes, Geraldine, Julie Walters is a National Treasure in UK, never forget she played a significant role in GBH, so she may appear in the next edition of the DIARIES.

ihave a friend who knows a huge amount about current London theatre - I'll ask him sometime.
