1. I want to put on a backpack, start at the southern border of Scotland, and walk as long as it takes until I reach the North Sea. Had this idea for a long time, don't know where it came from, perhaps a past life. And now that I have a secret celebrity crush on Craig Ferguson, well, secret from my husband, anyway, I am enamored with Scotland even more. :^)
2. Sites I'd love to see:
* Borobudur
* the Winter Palace
* Petra
* Machu Pichu
* Grand Canyon/Hoover Dam
* Mt. Rushmore and the bison roaming the plains
* Everest & Himalayas - don't need to climb! Just want to see...
3. There's also a lot to be said for closing your eyes and throwing a dart at a map. Let the universe decide for you what your next trip will be.

By the time you see all those places, Vibhas, another planet able to support life will have been 'discovered'. When the map to this wondrous new planet becomes available you'll be able to make another list!
I'd like one visit to Europe to shake the hand of my friend Holle in Saxony, and if he's not looking, kiss the cheek of his lovely lady, Janin. The rest of my time there will, hopefully, be spent in Northern Italy, hanging with the local farmers, working with the men in the early morning, then working in the kitchen with the women in the late morning.
I can see all the tourist stuff on TV. I don't line up for anything. The only waiting I do is sitting at a table waiting for the waiter to bring food or another round. I'll be happy flying over 'the sights'. I'll have to figure a way to see as many of you guys as I can.

My list is long, and probably unattainable with the husband I have right now. Sigh. But I'd love to see all the usual places: European and Asian capitals, the Amazon (before it's all gone), Hawaii, New Zealand, Madagascar. Most of all, I'd like to visit Antarctica. Given global warming, it may become a tropical paradise in my lifetime, in which case they'll build commercial airports and hotels, and all I'll need is a passport and two weeks off. |

Cori, so you have a crush on Craig Ferguson ? I used to quite fancy his sister Janice who used to work for the same company as me.
Places I'd like to visit ? Nowhere. If I want to meet foreigners...England is full of them...and if I want to meet the English...rural Scotland is full of them.( escaping the foreigners ). |

1. The countries along the Silk Road.
2. India. Every last bit of it.
3. Turkey.
4.I especially want to stay at the hotel with the houseboats in Kashmere-the one in "Himalaya."
5. Tibet
6. Kenya
(I don't believe in letting a little political instability get in the way of a good time.)
7. England--my great-grandpa's ancestral village in Wiltshire; London, of course; the Jane Austen sites; and the Arthurian/Goddess-oriented sites.
8. Back to France.
9. California. One of my friends grew up there and I want to see it for myself.
10. Lebanon. Someone very special to me grew up there.
I just received "The Places In Between" for Christmas. I'll start on it tonight when I tuck myself into my flannel sheets. |
