I'm with you, Patty. New Year's will come, whether I sleep through it or not.

It's never been a big deal to me. Even when I'd go out, it just seemed like a big excuse to drink and be wild. I don't know. ... just no big deal to me.

Our usual routine is to have shrimp cocktail for dinner on New Year's Eve. I have a rum and Pepsi--one of about half a dozen that I have all year. We go to bed around 10pm.

But this year, our church is having a New Year's Eve party from 8pm to midnight, and my daughter wants to go because all her friends are going, so I'm going to have coffee with dinner and stay up till midnight.

We will probably have a friend or two to stay the night. We shall see the New Year in with whatever tipple we fancy (probably a Baileys for me - and like you Judy it'll be one of the few each year as I take medication which affects the liver).

We may even set fireworks off at midnight though I stay indoors and look after Tosun.

We have been invited to a New Year's Day walk, at 10 a.m.!! Will I wake up in time?!! There is hot toddy beforehand. Hic!!

;)

I'll watch the tartan nonsense on BBC Scotland as usual no doubt and maybe have a drink with Meg. I'm working on New Year's day.
