Excellent programme, though has anyone noticed he was staying in one of the hotels in Mumbai that got attacked, he must has left a few days before it happened. Another close shave, rather like his close shave leaving Odessa in Pole to Pole.

-- ok now I see its been mentioned on the Series thread

I'm watching the original series at the moment, up to ep2, the man in the lift scene haha. I hope we get the new show but I'm not holding my breath.

Nor I, kaz. It stinks, because there's a big market. People eat up Michael's best. Hemingway and New Europe, maybe not, but this one would surely be a hit and make money.

Hemingway was on here over Xmas Pats, I watched it, I loved that series but I know a lot didn't. After the New Eurpoe fiasco when we waited an eternity for the series only to have it axed halfway thru by the tely station, I'm deffo not holding my breath for ATWI20Y.

I know how you feel. I liked Hemingway too. It was a big change from his usual, but I still enjoyed it. And it brought me the chance to meet Michael. He added Washington, D.C. to his itinerary after he was already on tour becasue it was USA-related. Had it not been, the Archives would not have sponsored his lecture and slide show. (The thing that I always rememebr now, is that those lectures back then were free.) It seems his appearances in other parts of the world cost money. Maybe that's why he does not come to the USA much anymore. No money in it. Just a guess.

But ... back to the subject---- I'd just love to see his latest project.
