For those of us who can't make it to DC... by mrsteabag on 12 January 2009 4:27pm

How are you observing Inauguration Day? I will be breathing a great sigh of relief, eating chocolate, and watching the festivities on tv from the comfort of my sofa.

In anticipation of an Obama victory, I had ordered a very special bottle of wine for election night which didn't arrive in time so I'll be opening it, fixing myself some yummy goodies and toasting the tv set during the Inauguration. I don't care if it starts in the morning as I think emotions will be so high that I wouldn't get anything done for the rest of the day anyway. (hic)

I don't think people really have an option as to what they'll be doing on the 20th! HAHAHAHAHA. Just kidding.

How much of the inauguration I'll see depends on who's playing that night.

Let's see...Jan 20...I won't see much of it with two NHL games on. 4:30: Washington at Ottawa, 7:00: Vancouver at San Jose. A few good reasons to watch both games, with Ovechkin in one game and the Canucks owe us all a better response to San Jose...one of the best teams in the league.

A 36" TV is about the right size when you sit five feet away. It's on in the morning? OK, then I'll only see parts of the highlights...between periods.

I will be at work. Elaine is worried about an attack on us during it. I hope not. I just get to watch the footage later.

I'll probably go down to my local library to watch the actual inauguration ceremony, as our 13" TV only gets one major network clearly, and I'd like to see it on a bigger screen.

HAHAHAHA. Kaz, you are so cute! Actually, I just meant that it will be covered from top to bottom, beginning to start a million times over for the entire day and probably weeks afterwards. Sigh!

"...and we'll be back after these messages to talk to a representative from FactCheck.org to find out exactly how they determined President Obama's birth certificate to be legitimate. We'll also have in the studio some suit who thinks FactCheck is full of s*it and was paid off by the liberal media elite to make that report."

Very funny! It annoys me too how the TV channels have to 'balance' every story,by setting one view against an opposing view 'for balance'...Why does everything have to be 'balanced'?? I don't mind a bit of evident bias now and then.
