The Chatter Box : Blathering On
Geocaching and Mr Palin's other adventures by EllyJelly on 5 May 2003 11:37pm
I'm a geocacher and just today...on Mr Palin's birthday...I picked up a Mr Palin travel bug from a tupperware box hidden under some heather on an obscure hillside near Sheffield - apparently where he went to Prep School.

Wots a travel bug? I hear a nation of people fail to ask. Well it's a "thingie" that we sad geocaches hunt for and hide again in a different place and thereby move from hidden place to hidden place around the country (or sometimes countries). I think the official website may explain it betterer than wot I'm doing (see http://www.geocaching.com/)

I thought it quite charming and fitting that Mr Palin had been made into a travel bug, and I'm especially pleased that I picked it up on this auspicious day.

He's heading down to Lundy with me on Thursday. Then, perhaps, taking the A23 through Purleys down on the main roads near Purbrights avoiding Leatherheads to the A231 to Rottingdeans. From Rottingdeans he'll probably go through Africa to Nairobis, taking the South road out of Nairobis for about twelve miles. Then he'll just ask...

hmmm... interesting.
As to your username.. it made me smile. That was my nickname as a child 'Oh Ellie Jelly! Time for dinner!!"
I'm not kidding.
Were you planning on climbing both peaks of Kilimanjaro?
Good luck with the bug. I'm off to peruse your website....
