cheap travel insurance? by kidjuxta on 11 February 2009 10:14pm
Hi all. I am going travelling for three months as of next week and am going to hit the US, Central America and Southeast Asia. I was wondering if anyone could please recommend a good place to get some cheap travel insurance? Thank you.

I buy travel insurance from the csma (Civil Service Motoring Association) and rarely need it. It is good value.
Googling 'cheap travel insurance' gives insureandgo.com at the top of the list.

We get our annual travel insurance 'free' through my bank a/c at HSBC.

The first year I changed from a normal to a 'Plus' a/c, the account was free as a special offer, but now I pay £12 odd a month for it which is still cheaper than the cheapest insurance we used to get (both my husband and I have medical conditions).

I also get free roadside assistance though as we have a Mobility car we don't need it.

If it wasn't for the medical conditions I would probably try the supermarkets - I hear ASDA do a good one.

Try World Nomads, they are the best but not necessariuly cheapest. They work on claims immediately, give advice and you only pay for the time you intend to travel. Theft is also covered (Im in S America, so this is very important)
