I heard on the radio this morning about the top romantic songs - can't remember what they were but here are three of my favourite romantic songs (I am not usually so slushy but I do like these):
'With or Without You' by U2
'Every breath you take' by Police
'Lady in Red' by Chris de Burgh |

I didn't think "Every Breath You Take" was a love song. I thought it was a break-up song. Oh well.
I LOVE "Lady in Red". Also "In My Life" (Beatles), "Kiss Me" and "Don't Dream it's Over" by Sixpence None the Richer, "Something Good" from "The Sound of Music", "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman" by Bryan Adams, and "This Lovely Lonely Man" from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Just joking about that last one. That's too gloppy even for mushy, sentimental me! LOL! |

Oh, I never thought of "Something Good". That is so soft and lovely. Good choice! |

Love Stinks - J. Geils Band
JOKING!
In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel
And You and I - Yes (c.g. WOULD say that)
"Our" song, mine and my husband's, is called "Indiscipline" by King Crimson. There are reasons for this. Romantic? It is to us.

If Mr. Thing and I have a song, it's a Brahms intermezzo (Opus 118 No. 2 in A Major, for the musicians). The first time he played it, I just melted! I still love hearing him play it. |

Ken,you are such a romantic! -No wonder all the ladies here adore you.
To be serious,I would plump for some oldie standards from the 1940's-50's,such as:
Fly Me To The Moon /Bart Howard (1954). Origially titled "In Other Words".
At Long Last Love/Cole Porter. Also the title of a movie by Peter Bogdanovich, starring Burt Reynolds and Cybill Shepherd.
My Funny Valentine/Richard Rodgers,Lorenz Hart(1937).From the musical :"Babes In Arms".
More modern would be :
Anything by : Barry White or Michael Bolton (..LURVE!!)
"I've Had The Time Of My Life"(Theme from Dirty Dancing)
More humorous would be:
(I've got a brand new)Combine Harvester by The Wurzels
Oh Shaddupa Your Face by Joe Dolce |
