The Changeling by Spursfan on 23 February 2009 9:27am

I watched The Changeling on DVD last night (starring Angelina Jolie) - what a brilliant film. Even my rather-difficult-to-please-when-it-comes-to-movies husband thought it was good.

And knowing it was a true story (albeit dramatised in some parts as it tells you at the end) made it even more poignant.

If you have not seen this film yet (and I know it is a year or two old now) I recommend it.

:)

I saw the film a few weeks ago in the cinema. It really is brilliant.

I watched the film two nights ago....I couldn't sleep after watching it as I felt so badly for the poor children and their families....though the movie was very well done and I was happy to see the bad guys get their just rewards.....it was so upsetting. On a brighter note and totally different from the Chageling....I highly recommend an older film with Anthony Hopkins..."The World's Fastest Indian"....a true story of a motorcycling legend, Burt Munro. I shall say no more! I like movie talk.

I haven't seen The Changeling yet.

saltspringislander, The World's Fastest Indian is fantastic! I just adore Anthony Hopkins.

Anthony Hopkins is one of my favourites....very talented. What's Grudge 3? Is it a scary one?? We watched 'W' the other night, about George W. Bush, I was reluctant to rent it at first, but did in the end.....it's an 'okay' movie....Oliver Stone portrays Bush as a petulant alcoholic spoiled and very irritating person....I won't say anymore as we all know too well this story. I did mention a good movie on the Oscars thread....."Bottle Shock" - a term used in wine making...the story is about a California winery in the Napa valley....it is very delightful.

It is a bit scary. Apparently it is not as good as The Grudge or Grudge 2 which I haven't seen (the husband has) but I thought it very good. Lots of blood and gore which I like, and a bit creepy (which I don't mind if the husband is with me hahaha).

Saw 'Redemption - A Mile from Hell' last night - thought that was pretty good too. The husband thought it was rubbish from start to finish, badly acted and a poor story. I am obviously easy to please because I got quite involved with it!!

We watched 'Doubt' last night. Not an 'action' movie, and a bit slow to get started. However, it is a powerful movie with all 3 main actors - Meryl Streep, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams - worthy of Oscars (in fact the latter two were nominated for the Actor/Actress in a Supporting Role Oscars and Meryl was nominated as Actress in a Leading Role).

I thoroughly enjoyed it. And the bonnets worn by the Sisters should have their own Oscar!!

Hee hee.

:)
