Thelma And Louise by bIG bLOGGER on 4 March 2009 5:44pm

CHANNEL 5 TV are showing this great 'road movie' tonight at 10PM.

This is one of my all-time fave feature movies, starring Susan Sarandon,Geena Davis,Harvey Keitel, and Michael Madsen. It was directed with skill and released in 1991 by the great (Sir) Ridley Scott, who now owns half of Pinewood/Shepperton film studios.

Another of the 'stars' of the film is the huge car these two reckless ladies drive,on their trek to escape the police across America, towards Colorado and The Grand Canyon.
But,did any of you catch what car it was??

(I think it was a 1966 model)

Watch out everybody. This duo is something to reckon with. I'm staying indoors, myself!

Yes Johnny - he plays the bloke they meet on the road, and Thelma (I think) has a bit of a fling with him.

b-b; according to Wikipedia it was a blue 1966 Thunderbird convertible.

This was the role that gave Brad Pitt his 'bIG bREAK' in the movies.
He plays a hitch-hiker with a nice Southern drawl, who tells the 2 girls he "needs a lift to get back to school" but later on confesses to Thelma he is really on parole for robbing gas-stations and convenience stores. After his 'fling' with Thelma,he opportunistically steals all their dollars and takes off, which leaves the 2 escapees broke,so Thelma later has no choice but to imitate his technique for robbing, and so in addition to Louise's murder charge,Thelma gets herself wanted for armed robbery.

Spursfan: ..but of course, being a Brad Pitt fan,you knew all that!! :)
You were also right about the car:--it WAS a turquoise-blue 1966 FORD Thunderbird convertible, sometimes known for short as a "T-Bird".
