The Chatter Box : Blathering On
Leaping for Africa by Wild in Africa on 11 March 2009 9:56am
Hi all. I have not dropped off the map and still pay frequent visits to Palins Travels to see what you are all doing, while I still travel back and forth to Africa from time to time.
I have signed up to do a sponsored tandem parachute jump for the charity for whom I work (Africa Now www.africanow.org) in July and would like to ask permission from Palins Travels to ask for sponsorship for this event. If that is not acceptable to use this site to do so please slap me down now, but if it is OK I can shortly post details of who to do this.
Love to all

Good to hear of your adventures and charity work for : http://www.africanow.org, "Wild in Africa".
Happy Birthday to you for April 22nd.(my Birthday is on April 10). In Vitals,it says you hail from Reading,Berkshire,England,(uggh!--the home town of Kate Winslet!!) but it doesn't say if you are male, female, or a gazelle?? :)

I don't know if palins travels sponsors charity events or not,but I'm sure patty will reply and tell you.

Not that I'm aware, but you'd have to inquire through Michael's office. The email is at the very bottom of the page under "CONTACT"

Thanks both of you and I will enquire through the contact e-mail as I do not want to 'transgress the unwritten law' (and hence incur the wrath of Doug and Dinsdale Piranha...recognise the old Monty Python reference?)
FYI I am male and probably not a gazelle, and we are VERY PROUD of our Kate in Reading!!

Welcome back, WIA, and good luck with the jump and sponsorship!

Welcome back WIA. I will make this even more interesting for you to present to Mr. P. I would be willing to take part in said jump.

Hi Guys. Never actually been away but I haven't felt I had so much to say on the forum for a while so been dropping in as silent participant and watching the discussions go by.
I'm still travelling on and off to Africa (was in Kenya in January) and still heavily involved in African development issues.
I have asked Webbie for permission to canvas for sponsorship on the site and await that wise judgement.
It's a long way from Tucson to rural Northamptonshire in England where the jump will take place Mike. A bit far for you to travel methinks?
