The "I hate clowns" thread by Miss-M on 14 April 2009 7:24am

I do not, nor have I ever, liked clowns. They are embarrassing at best and terrifying at worst. Why do adults assume that kids find them entertaining? Don't they remember that they too loathed clowns when they were young? So why do they book them for kids' parties? It REALLY gets on my quince. I mean, BIG TIME. I doubt there is a quince large enough to shoulder the evilness of the clown.

Please post your thoughts about clowns.

You answered your own question Missy. Adults DO remember how much they loathed clowns.......therefore they ( we ) think........" Let's book a clown for the little brat's birthday party. "

Oh you read my mind Missy, I have to take Ava to a party on the weekend and they've hired a clown, or even worse CLOWNS!!
NOBODY likes clowns ,especially since the movie "IT". They're not funny, the're scary, unpleasant and have ridiculously big feet.
Ava's gonna be terrified on Saturday:(

When my Cocker Spaniel is a clown, it's wonderful, but when humans do it, no, it's just not right. Clowning is best left to the professionals -- pets.

My friend's son was terrified of clowns when he was little.

I don't particularly like clowns either.

Well, certainly, I was scared when a kid but a visit some years ago to a Russian circus convinced me clowns were great. I was impressed with their miming skills - the audience was extremely mixed as far as languages go - and everyone was laughing. (SORRY!)
