Sorry, should've written a warning for that one too..

"This picture shows a Chinese lady preparing the dish "Snake-bitten Chicken" by encouraging a snake to bite a chicken".

Maybe this should be on "Wiki How To" as well.. :P

I hesitate to visit China and Japan because of the things they do to animals to prepare them for food. It's horrific. One visit to an authentic Chinese restaurant, and I was ready to become a vegetarian.

I'm with you, Judy. Other regions of the Far East are just as bad too. It upsets me just thinking about it.

I went to an authentic Chinese restaurant (in Hong Kong, not actually in China but quite near the border) and it tasted nothing like our 'western' Chinese food, we had no idea what we were eating. To look and taste it you couldn't tell. We didn't like it at all.

Yeah they are fully different. They don't even have stuff like spring rolls and 'sweet 'n sour' pork..

The one we went to in CA was pretty close to authentic. For one thing, we were the only non-Chinese patrons, and the place was like a huge cafeteria--must've seated 200 or more. There were whole roasted ducks hanging on hooks; sick fish in a tank waiting to be cooked, and other stuff. I suppose it's hypocritical, but it bothered me a lot.
