I'm off into Melbourne in the morning to the National Gallery of Victoria to see an exhibition of Salvador Dali's works. There are paintings, photographs, clothing jewellery, all sorts. Been looking forward to it for ages.
Ray and Jess are minding Ava, that should be interesting LOL!

What a treat! I would love to see the show. One of my favorite painters. Have a great time!

Sounds like a fun day, Kaz! Dali's work is really fascinating. Would love to crawl inside his mind to see what makes it work as it does. He's one in a million.

On a family holiday in northern Spain, I decided to take my daughters to the Dali museum in Figueres. We were staying in a caravan with the usual patio furniture and candles in bottles for evening alfresco dining.

Anyway, it was a very hot day and the girls were really getting into the exhibits and full of questions like, "Is he famous then?"

We arrived back at the caravan, hot , tired and hungry to see that the candles in the bottles had partially melted and had flopped down over the side of the bottles - in true Dali style!!! : )>

My sister likes Dali, I think. I, on the other hand, have no interest in art. But the "melting clocks painting" is indeed intriguing! (That's Dali, right?)

(it is)

I'm so sad I didn't even have the time to go to the Dali Museum in Bcn. :(
I have been to the Picasso Museum, apparently made on the same pattern: not so much of very famous work, but we can see all the evolution of the artist, and many sketches as well.
I don't know for Dali, but it was quite odd to look at a very classic painting ("The First Communion", for example), signed Picasso. But, on the other hand, he couldn't go straight to cubism, could he?! ;)
