Abandoned Houses by artofcp on 9 July 2009 8:44pm

For photography buffs, a web site of 100 abandoned houses in Detroit taken by Kevin Bauman with a Hasselblad camera:
http://www.100abandonedhouses.com/

I don't know what the significance of the camera is, but the photos are haunting.

At the risk of being pedantic....there's 103 houses.

Indeed. I noticed it too.

Oh Hassleblads are known to be excellent cameras. I recall my dad talking about them when I was young. Don't they take square photos?

Oh, yes, they DO! I just looked at the web site! lol.

Hassleblad sounds like an exotic form of lederhosen if you ask me!

It's scary, it is Detroit.

What a strange site, quite sad.

Incredible photos. Nick would have waxed lyrical on the virtues of Hassleblad cameras. The quality if the images is superb.

Nice photos,Cath, but at the risk of sounding ignorant, why have all these houses been abandoned? Some of them are plush desirable residences like,er,mansions.
