The Chatter Box : Blathering On
My Heroes... by Helen on 19 May 2003 3:53pm
...are 60 year old men.
I saw Garrison Keillor last night-- and the first thing he said was, "I'm 60..."
Who else do I know who just turned 60?

Now I just need to meet Michael. I never ever thought Garrison and I would ever be in the same breathing space, but we were. We shared oxygen. It was awesome.
Michael? Will we ever meet? Will you ever get to sign my books?
(okay I'll stop pining now...)
Lyn sent me pics of her and MP and I am still envious of all you lucky, lucky bastards...

Aw Helen - what a lovely way to describe meeting someone!! you shared oxygen - not only that you touched each others lives.

just wait till the next series is out - then your prince will come!

Everybody likes Garrison!
I thought he was just a family institution, but no! Everybody likes him!
He came to Redding a few years ago (we live about an hour from there) and did a show in the Hall, and my dad and I got to go. It was standing room only, but very cool nontheless.

Who's Garrison Keillor?

The host of Prairie Home Companion, (National Public radio) author of books "Lake Wobegon Days"and "The Book of Guys" amongst others..inducted into the radio hallof fame.
His radio show helped me through my "young adult" years. He's a gifted storyteller-- lots of warmth and wit.
A lot like MP, I might add..
