Can you fill me in?

Now that the California Legislative session has finally ended, I'm getting back to having a life again (and palinstravels is the first place I'm returning to!) I've got 1600 messages at my chatmark and there is no way I can get through them all. Can anyone fill me in on the most important things that have happened here since my last chatmark on 9/7? |

I hope that your hard work has paid off, Geraldine!
A few things that have happened here:
Michael's new book 'Halfway to Hollywood'published. Lots of booksignings and talks (I got my book signed at Selfridges and attended a talk/interview at the National Theatre with Kisch and Linda from this site and another friend).
Kazzz has moved house again so is offline for a while.

Our son Simon and his wife Kat are expecting their first baby next March!! :) Kat was in a car crash on Thursday night (see thread "WHAT a week!") but baby thankfully seems ok. |

My cat Garfield died due to renal failure. Don and I are upset and Snoopy is not happy either. |

I went to Acadia National Park, Maine, for a week and had a great time.
Last night I saw AC/DC in Washington, D.C |

We had a 30 hour power outage here during a storm this week so I read 2/3 of "Halfway to Hollywood", reading by a camping lantern. It seemed very appropriate somehow even if the travel docs are not covered in this volume. I envy you, suzulu, for being able to get your copy signed! (And the work paid off 90% which is way more than we thought would happen.)
Congrats on the new grandchild, Anne! So glad he?/she? and Kat are OK.
My deep condolences about Garfield, Terry. The march of renal failure is relentless and so hard to watch. The two aged cats of my relative I take care of are in the middle stages of it. I'm having to give them sub-Q fluids several times a week. I foster kittens for a rescue and we're keeping one (maybe two)of the latest batch to help Marlys get through the the inevitable loss of her old cats. Not a pretty thing to watch. So sorry....
Sounds like a great vacation, patty!
Linz, if you're reading this, I tried to send you an e-mail but the address I have for you is not working. My address is in Vitals (take out the spaces).
So good to be back! |

Thanks, Sighthound,
I've cried buckets since he died. It's hard to get over a pet, don't you think? |

Pets are family, Terry. I still cry over ones I've lost decades ago. |

I'll endorse the welcome back to G. She really is the smartest arse in Smartdom.
* Not that I've ever seen a pic of G nor her arse but since she's Californian, I think it will be a trim arse. * :)
