The Chatter Box : Blathering On
Kangaroo by suzulu on 23 November 2009 5:59pm
Kazz, Missy, did you read about this over there? I just wondered what happened to the dog in the end.

Oh yes I saw this on the news, the dog was saved.
Kangaroos can be so vicious, they can use their back claws to slash. I've posted this before but a few years ago my nephew's dog was drowned by a kangaroo, who chased it into a dam and went in after it. The roo held the dog under the water until it drowned.
Another family friend also had an incident, he hit one in a car and it came through the windscreen into the cabin alive and naturally went berserk and he was at the receiving end of horrendous injuries from the claws.

This sort of stuff isn't as rare as you'd think. Koalas can give you a decent slash too.

Yeah it's typical behaviour for roos.. let the dog follow them into the water, turn, and then drown the attacker.. never heard of it happening to a person though..
