Error on site or is it me? by TERRY S on 18 December 2009 8:50pm

This has been bugging me for ages. Has anyone found that on some pages of Blathering On that the topic instructions cover up the edge of the posts and the end page numbers. I'm talking about the grey strip that goes down the right of every page with the instructions on. If you have, does any computer Palinite know how I can fix it?

That happens to me occasionally, too.

I have another problem in that recently, when I click on "go to chatmark", it says that I have no new messages but, if I click on "since yesterday", I find lots of messages (like this one) that have been posted since I last reset my chatmark. Anybody else having that problem?

Hi Terry.. you can't 'change' it as such, but what you can do if you really want to read the posts is:
In your browser menu click on "View", then "Page Style" then choose "No Style". It will show a much more simplified version of the webpage which works fine, but you might just have to scroll down to see what you want to read.. but that's not really a problem of course..

Hope that helps..

When our machine can't display the full width of the text to be displayed there is a horizontal scroll bar which can be moved to show both sides of the text. Also your display options may enable you to increase the pixel density and therefore get more text on screen. Unfortunately text which is too small is difficult to read.

It's maybe only applicable to Apple computers Kazzzz!

Yeah actually what Ken is saying is also a good way.. if you are using the Firefox browser (which you should be IMO), in the menu at the top click on "View", then "Zoom" then choose "Zoom out". It makes the writing smaller (as Ken said), but at least you can see everything. (For example the weather thread has that problem).

I wouldn't know one browser from the other ! I'm useless at this stuff and only stumbled on this site by accident, whilst trying to find out something about MP which I now can't remember.
I use the net to...pollute this site, browse the international newspapers, annoy some folk on MSN ( mainly Karen ),check the share price of the one stock I own...and listen to the Today Programme on Radio 4.

Ta, Gang! I've tried all your suggestions and they worked wonderfully. Although, the writing is too small for my shocking eyesight. But it's worked, thank you!
