AROUND THE WORLD by JakesCuvCuv on 21 December 2009 4:13pm

I have just started watching all the DVDS again, i tend to watch them all very three months or so. I have just finished watching Around the world in 80 days and every time i watch it i find something new which i missed when i prviously watched it. The episode where Michael is on the Dhow remains the most captivating one of the whole series. However the final episode shows Britain and its people up for what they are. From the newspaper seller who didnt want to be photographed to the general rudeness of our people. It made be ashamed to be British as Michael says "The most hard to please people in the world". I agree wholeheartedly with Michael and nothing has changed we British need to be more helpful caring and cheerful.
What a disappointing ending not being allowed into the reform club.

Thanks Patty my name is Jamie i am from England. Jake is the name of my son who is 2 years old.
When Jake was small he wouldnt go to sleep until we put Full Circle on for him the music must have relaxed him and sent him off to sleep!!! so we had to keep listening to the start if full circle over and over again!!!

Yes its true us British are a miserable nation we definitely need to cheer up (me included lol)

Welcome Jake...but don't be so hard on us Brits to an international audience. :)
I'm Scottish Jake, maybe you were just referring to the English. ;)
Oh, and I hope you enjoy Christmas with your little lad. He will be aware of it this year.

And yet I read many travel articles describing the Scots as being dour. I didn't find that to be true whatsoever when I was there.

JakesCuvCuv: Welcome to Palin's Travels.

I believe that the List of Members of The REFORM CLUB in London's Pall Mall is confidential and not made public, but I'd like to know how many BBC executives have been granted membership?

Because recently,a BBC "league table" put our own Michael Palin at near bottom, along with cook Delia Smith and newsreader Sophie Raworth, dismissing his input as having "occasional sparkle, but limited appeal.." This is ridiculously demeaning, given all the wonderful Series' of Michael's Travel Progs, etc, which have garnered many new viewers worldwide, for BBCTV.

Sounds like the Committee at The Reform Club are just as snobbish and snooty as the top executives at the BBC.
