New Competition by Ken Dunn on 2 February 2010 7:43am

See near the bottom of page 7 for details of a new photo competition.

~

Think of titles for my last 3 photographs (the ones at the bottom of the page in the link) - see Blathering On, 'A way to share pictures of ourselves' -Messages - page 49, seventh message link. Alternatively, use the link below.

If you only want to offer a title for one of the photographs then that is OK.

I'll start them off:

1) By the car, 'I'm not going out in that.'

2) By the bird, 'I love low flying but this is too close.'

3) Lets go travelling on a bridge of rays.

Short titles are sometimes better than long ones and don't forget, if you only do one title, to identify which photograph it is for.

The prize, shortly after midday on February 28th, is to have the winning ones used at the photographs, with Holle's permission.

New captions for each.. well, lets take a look again......

Re: New Competition by peripatetically on 2 February 2010 1:38pm

here's my first thought.

1. Bird----
a. I'm not afraid of those big waves--they dwindle down to nothing.

2. Car---
a. Now if I follow these tire tracks, I might find my way home.

b. My wife said I have to go buy toilet paper and bread.

3. Bridge---
a. Shhhhhhhh....!!!! I think God is going to speak.

Okay, I'll take a shot.
1. The killer car lies waiting as the next unsuspecting victim saunters by.
2. Bird takes on waves, ship does nothing to assist.
3. Anyone who wants to get beamed up, stand on the bridge!

Re: New Competition by artofcp on 2 February 2010 3:39pm

1)'A walking traffic cone.'

2)'Small and nimble vs big and trundle.'

3) Ken, this photo is so magnificent that it defies any description. 'Do I really live here?'

1. Newspaper headline - MAIL GETS THROUGH. (smaller headline)- Postman struggles through snowstorm in Fife to deliver Ken Dunn his latest batch of stamps.

2. Bird - "Damn. I just KNEW I should'nt have had that extra half hour in bed. Now I've missed the ferry so I'll have to fly instead!!"

(An accidental poem!!)

3. Well actually I haven't yet GOT one for the 3rd - maybe try another time!!

:)

Yes, Ken. That one of the bridge is a beauty. Which one is it?

Loretto, I liked your bridge caption much better than mine! lol.

I am a big fan of Star Trek the Next generation, mostly because of Patrick Stewart. So there is an air of Trekkie to that caption!! :-)

Re: New Competition by Ken Dunn on 3 February 2010 7:15pm

Looking excellent folks for captions. I'm very impressed with the efforts so far. It's going to be difficult to decide the winners.
~
The cantilever bridge is The Forth Rail Bridge and the suspension bridge is The Forth Road Bridge, peri.
