The Chatter Box : Blathering On
Singers Face The Final Curtain...in The Phillipines... by bIG bLOGGER on 14 February 2010 1:48pm
Apparently it can be dangerous to get up and sing Frank Sinatra's song MY WAY,especially in The Phillipines, where there have been at least 6 murders and numerous fights in the last decade surrounding karaoke renditions of this number.

It's not clear exactly why this occurs; some say the song expresses overweening arrogance; others that it is a song sought out by would-be singers who sing way out-of-tune,or have had way too much to drink; or maybe it's a cultural or even tribal matter in The Phillipines in particular.

Sure enough it was originally sung and made world-renowned by a singer who had also gained a reputation as a hard drinker, who could be a hard-headed man especially if he was crossed, who could expend effort in making personal threats, and on occasion did throw a punch himself.
