Summer solstice.

Which is today obviously. It's 10-15pm here in Scotland and we still have total daylight and a clear blue sky. We don't really get total darkness at this time of year.
The pessimistic view ? The days now get shorter. :( |

I know! I said to Zak yesterday 'it's all downhill from now on!'!
But yes it is LOVELY to have long sunny evenings instead of having to shut the curtains and put the lights on at 4 p.m. (or earlier!) which is the other extreme!

It was dark in CT at about 9:15 last night. Pitch black. I miss the long days. |

20,000 young people gathered yesterday,June 21st,at a stone circle on Salisbury Plain at Stonehenge in Wiltshire,England to cheer as the sun rose out of a clear blue sky at 4:50AM (BST).
They were all there to revel.....
......but to revel in WHAT?? |

It was a twilight or pre-dawn light level at 3:30am Pacific. My sleep challenge is to try to be out as near to nightfall as I can.
The good news? The blackout curtains work well enough I don't need to spray-paint the windows black...I'm much to lazy to build shutters. |

Happy solstice K and all. It should still be light here in Scotland but we have had a lot of rain and cloud cover. |
