Happy Christmas!

Christmas items were out on the shelves on Sept. 1 in my local supermarket!
Has anyone else spotted Christmas stuff being brought out 3 months too early this year? |

Yes we have! For example they have tins of Quality Street and/or Roses 2 for £10 in Tesco (or was it Asda, I forget, perhaps both - still, you get the point!!).
I love Xmas and want it to last as long as possible so I like to see things on display. Also, we buy Xmas gifts all year to spread the cost (and also if we see a great pressie that we might not see again for someone!) so it is nice to have things available.
And remember, people will be (or should be if they are wise) buying a few things at a time foodwise too and this gives them longer to get the stuff.
Christmas - YAYYYYYY!!

Christmas not yay. It brings up all the grievances iin my fractured family and it costs a fortune. The only good bit will be the fun Ava gets out of it....making things, seeing the tree and waiting for Santa. All the rest can take a great flying leap. |

Reminds of the song from 'Meaning of Life':
It's Christmas it's Christmas in Heaven!
Hip hip hip hip hip hooray!
Every single day
Is Christmas day.
Don't worry Kazz, you still have nearly 3 months to prepare yourself mentally. :)
I remember the first time I broke a 26 year-long family tradition of 'everyone being there' for Xmas. (There was even the same angel on top of the tree for those 26 years). Suddenly I was practically the devil and a 'family-breaker'! That said, Christmas is pretty awesome when you're a kid..

"There was even the same angel on top of the tree for those 26 years"
When we put the decos up there is a mixture of new and not so new, and a couple of really old things that were my parents, but one item that is a MUST is the fairy we bought for our very first christmas as a married couple, and she will be 39 years old this Xmas!! She was bought at Woolworths in Holloway, N. London, (where we lived), downstairs where all the xmas stuff was as I recall.
She is gently unwrapped from her tissue paper and placed ceremoniously at the top of the tree when all the rest is done.
And considering her age she is still in good nick!!
