Airline seat room !

We all complain that there is never enough seat or legroom ; but what when you get seated next to a 'large' person ?
They have gauges that your hand luggage has to conform to before boarding, so why not your arse ?
I think that the really fat ones are asked to pay for two seats but some airlines just upgrade the ones just below that level to save all round embarrassment.
Can you imagine having to travel half way round the globe, economy class, stuck between two porkers ?
Airlines should introduce a new price structure where porkers pay extra to travel at a standard below economy.
And give me some knee room ! |

Have you ever had to sit next to a Scottish person on a long haul flight? I have!
Naturally, I complained and was issued a written apology and my fare was refunded and rightly so. |

Funny you should say that ! I sat next to a Scottish person on the flight from Heathrow to Melbourne. She did nothing but complain every time I asked for another complimentary beer.
Guess who she was ? :) |

Another tine I was placed between TWO Scottish people and as a result was given 1,000,000 free frequent flyer points and a complete set of matching luggage as compensation. |

Would you want to be seated next to this guy ? That's me to his right.....Meg is squashed beneath his right butt cheek. ;)

Yes, Sue - poor guy indeed!!
He isn't encroaching on the seat of the 'poor guy' next to him - that's why he is 'spilling over' into the aisle, to try and avoid doing so! Though what happens when they bring the trollies down I don't know! They always seem to manage to bump into you with the trollies if you're in the aisle seat, even if you are not 'spilling over' !!
I perhaps feel sorry for him as I am on the 'tubby' side myself - though I have to say I fit neatly into an aircraft seat even WITH the arms down!!
But what I DO think (for what it's worth) is that all airlines, especially charter ones) should take 2 or 3 rows of seats completely OUT, then there would be decent leg room for all. They are putting profits over our comfort and most important of all, our safety. |

Yes Anne, we would all like to see them create more space for each of us but they are moving in the opposite direction. Did you see this in The Mail ?
