By changing your priorities, you can change the situation. The problem with revenge is that while it may feel satisfying in the short term, it very often results in an escalation of hostilities. So revenge is a dangerous game to play, where you can easily end up looking like the bad guy. Also, you might eventually come across someone who can't be hurt emotionally, in which case your own anger will be reflected back on you.   Re: The thing that you most hate about yourself ? by johnnyBgood! on 24 June 2012 2:38pm   A Pyrrhic victory (/ˈpɪrɪk/) is a victory with such a devastating cost that it carries the implication that another such victory will ultimately lead to defeat. Someone who wins a "Pyrrhic victory" has been victorious in some way; however, the heavy toll and/or the detrimental consequences negates any sense of achievement or profit. Hopefully, I will post here soon and be more lucid and 'sensible'. I do hate that my wit disappears with sobriety though. I become rather boring ! I and Meg long for me to be boring again.   Re: The thing that you most hate about yourself ? by ev on 24 June 2012 3:38pm   The 'boring' feeling comes from the body feeling as though it's missing something, not because you actually are boring or something like that. Anyway, by taking on some new hobbies, especially creative/constructive ones, you instantly render your life more interesting. Outdoor activities are especially good because fresh air increases oxygen intake, which is essential for good brain function.   Messages 1 2 3
