Universal Studios, Florida by Loretto on 20 June 2012 7:16pm

We are in the universal theme park in Florida for the last two days. Visited my husband's parents in Saint Pete Florida for two days before we came here. The Harry Potter theme park and especially the virtual reality ride are unbelievable. If they offer reasonable rates from Europe and you or the your kids are fans then it is well worth a visit. Lots of fun, lots of walking, but lots of fun!

Have a great time, Loretto! It sounds like it is certainly a place to visit.

It is very well done Sue. The Harry Potter theme park has snow capped roof tops and real pine trees in a climate of 80-90 degrees F. The snow isn't real, as you can imagine, but the pine trees are. We were allowed early admittance because we were staying at the Hard Rock hotel. So we got in one hour ahead of regular visitors, at 8am. Our wait time for the virtual reality ride was 25 minutes. When the kids, we took Sean and our niece with us, wanted to go back later in the day to do the ride again, the wait time was 1 hour and 30 minutes. They decided not to wait!

Here's the picture of us all on that virtual reality ride at the Harry Potter theme park:

Then we went all Spiderman, you know how it is in 97 degree heat, you loose all common sense.

Then I ate something that turned me blue, Sean went bald, Kevin grew a beard and our niece developed a severe squint....must have been the $10.00 slices of pizza.

May the Force be With You!

I look like I am window shopping, not about to do battle. Maybe I spotted the word "Sale!"

LOL. It all looked like great fun Loretto, although that Harry Potter ride made your normally gorgeous pins, look no better than Kevin's ! ;)

John, I hate to say this, but Kevin actually has nicer legs than me! :-) I'd kill for those slender calves of his!

Seriously though, those seats were uncomfortable as heck! I would also hesitate to
take nervous, nightmare prone youngsters on
that ride. Lots of skeletons and ghosts and scary
stuff to provide parents with many sleepless night.

I used to love 'scary' fairground rides, ie rollercoasters etc but I couldn't face them these days. By the time Jacob is big enough to go on such things, I won't be expected to join him !
