....from Turkey.

Had a great time, but the weather was too hot for me - well for most people! They are having a bit of a heatwave, and although we have known it hit 50C in the past, and it was 'only' 35 - 40C it seemed more oppressive.

We hired a car for a couple of days with our friends, and one day drove to Tire (Ti-ray they say) which was about 60km away. When we got out of the car the heat hit us - it was 39C but being away from the coast it seemed so much hotter. I had trouble breathing even; my friend who is a nurse (luckily) said I was white as as sheet and my lips were blue!! We sat outside a restaurant but then the others decided we'd better get me back and Zak said he would fetch the car (it was about 10 mins walk away). It would have been so much simpler to walk, because not knowing the town and its one way system, it took Zak 45 mins to find us, after asking for directions twice and eventually having a chap showing him the way!! Meanwhile, we were sitting on a step outside a bank, and I was getting worse and worse, I felt I would pass out. Eventually a security guard from the bank asked if I wanted to go inside, I said yes, but I can't walk! So he helped me in, and I sat with Veronica. Of course the bank was freezing with their air con so I soon felt better, but they asked if I needed to go hospital. Veronica said no, it was just the heat (but she told me later she thought5 I might end up there). We eventually got home and I went to bed, but I wasn't 'right' for the rest of the hols. However we still enjoyed the hols.

Just read your post Anne! Hope that doesn't happen again to you. Holidays are supposed to be fun, not scary. Take it easy and just make sure with your own doc that everytimg is alright. Hugs xxx L

What a dreamer you are John (though I appreciate the sentiment)!! Do Scotsmen think backwards or something because in 10 years you'll be 87 whilst I shall be not 100 but a mere 35.

Anne, I really want you to live at least another 30 years. You'll only be 120 and I'll be 80 and be your toyboy. :)
