Murder of 2 women Police Officers. by Wheelrim on 19 September 2012 11:26am

Very sadly it was dramatically highlighted yesterday the dangers involved in being a Police Officer.
Two Women Police Constables were on routine patrol in Manchester (UK) when they were called to attend a burglary. However, it would appear that the call to Police was made by a male who was wanted by the Police after being given Bail in June after his arrest for the Murder of a father and son. Both incidents were violent, one involving a hand grenade. He was wanted on bail for throwing another grenade at a house. Yesterday he lured Police to him and shot dead two Women PC`s doing their duty.
The point of this is.. As an ex-bobby I know only to well what going to a job means, it means you NEVER know what to expect, I have found that on many occasions, usually unwarranted violence toward the Police. Should they be armed? well, it probably would not have helped the two unfortunate Officers yesterday, however, in future it might make people like that THINK about things if they KNEW that officers WERE armed. Who knows. Our thoughts are with everyone concerned.
