Great TV Shows by Loretto on 29 October 2012 2:43pm
The Walking Dead and Boardwalk Empire, myself and Kevin are glued to these shows. Do you guys in UK/Ireland get them?

Last night The Walking Dead was very political, a guy called The Governor showed up, a bit like Mitt Romney actually, except I hope Mitt actually has fish in his fish tank......if you watch the show you'll get that last joke.

Boardwalk Empire is so well written, just fantastic. The great Steve Buschemi is in it, the bady guy from Fargo.

This scene, where Lewis who has a stroke, is being fed by his mistress was absolutely the most shocking scene:

Hi Loretto, To date I have not seen either of thes though I have been told they are both excellent, but I will get around to them, trouble is I have so much to catch up on. Someone recently gave me the complete series of `Deadwood` with Ian Mcshane, and... well, it got myself and `er indoors hooked straight away, what a programme, gritty, realistic (the cursing is premier league!). Amazing show. I was also given An Aussie series called `Underbelly`, again, Gritty and well made, to do with bent cops, drugs, prossies etc and based on real events. good stuff.
I am currently on my first outing with (yes, I know, `WHERE have YOU been wheels`?) `24 with Jack Baur. Good stuff, well made but just a little over the top at times for me, but nevertheless I can forgive that.

Yes I'm sure we get the Walking Dead, though I don't watch it.

Favourites at the moment in Spursfan2's house are: Shameless (Series 10), Red Dwarf X, Andrew Marr's History of the World, Dallas (just me), Merlin (just me) and Casualty (just me).

We also love watching old episodes of Father Ted

Also both enjoying Brazil.

Spursfan2: I watch Red Dwarf X and Merlin, too. It's not just you. However in the case of all the others it is.

Loretto: Sorry, not seen either of these. Can't stand US TV to be honest.

Loretto: With the exception of Star Trek of course.

Tonight is the first screening here of 56 up, from the 7 up series. It has followed the lives of a dozen or so English children, filming and interviewing them every seven years. The series is rivetting, I wait eagerly for each new instalment. One of the blokes emigrated to Australia as a child and lives quite near us, we have seen him around over the years, I have never got up the courage to speak to him yet, would love to though.

Terry - you misunderstood me. By 'only me' I meant that I watch Dallas, Merlin and Casualty but Zak doesn't, whereaas rhe others we watch together. I wasn't talking about the whole of the UK!!

Yes I have watched a lot of the 7 UP etc series Kazzzz.

Hi Kazzz, Yes, we have also followed the 7 up series, facinating at times and a great record for the individuals involved.

I am pretty sure you will have watched the Underbelly series... what is your view of it? also, for anyone reading this... Kazzz I am sure will heartily recommend an Aussie Classic film that perhaps those outside of Oz have never heard of, its brilliant... its called, `The Castle`, Like it Kazzz?
