Boston Marathon Bombings by Loretto on 22 April 2013 2:59pm
Lots of stuff happened while we were away. America is a crazy place to live. I was sad that the Boston marathon became a target for a bombing plot. What was going on in the minds of those two brothers? Really? I mean they had been living here for 16 years, and educated here, shouldn't immigrants be glad that their host country affords them opportunities to make a better life for themselves? I can't see US immigration laws getting better because of this latest event.

In view of that I was quite emotional at times when I watched the London marathon yesterday. I'm glad the Boston police got on top of the situation very quickly. Loretto, it's hard to make allowances for devious, disgruntled lunatics.

I was actually at the marathon The atmosphere was just incredible. Everyone spectators and runners alike were united in their grief and friendship of Boston. There were lovely signs around saying, "Pain is temporary - but do it for Boston! And all the runners and us had the black ribbons. I loved every minute of it.
