The Chatter Box : Blathering On
Hotels by Spursfan2 on 30 November 2013 7:07am
As far as I know, we have stayed in 3 hotels that Michael has stayed in during his travels. There COULD be more, but these are the ones I know for definite:

Pera Palas, Istanbul, Turkey: Looked round it in 1988 and stayed there in December 1996 (Pole to Pole, 1991)

The Yak and Yeti Hotel, Kathmandu, Nepal: Stayed there in March 2001 (Himalaya 2003)

Taj Mahal Hotel, Bombay/Mumbai, India: Stayed there in April 2001 (AWI80D 1988). [Zak had had his birthday the day we left our previous hotel, The lake Palace, Udaipur, and they had given him a huge cake and flowers, which we then had to take on the plane to Mumbai!! We asked the waiter at our meal the first night to cut us a couple of slices and share the rest with the staff, as by then it was slightly on the turn and we couldn't have eaten it!! He was also spoilt at the Taj Mahal, from memory a couple of bottles of wine were brought to the room)

Anyone else have memories of hotels in the travel series?
