The Chatter Box : Blathering On
Retiring? by Seojin1208 on 26 April 2014 1:11pm
I saw an article about Michael not doing any more travel shows. What is he going to do next year? More acting? Writing? Maybe just staying home.
But this may not be true.

I seriously wish there were an online live show for the O2, I don't think Korea will have a Python show on the road since we don't originally speak English and it's rare to see another Python fan here.

I was lucky enough to get tickets to An Evening with Michael Palin at his local primary school a few weeks ago. Michael gave a wonderful and amusing talk on Brazil, Python and many other things. My wife being Korean, flew the flag for you!! Bet we were the only ones there that had had a Korean wedding hall marriage (as in Full Circle) too!
At the end he did mention that after the Python shows, he would be busy for the rest of the year with his new diary book, the UK tour and rather promisingly "my travels".

I was too shy to ask the question I had..."will you be doing any more travel shows?", both during the Q&A and afterwards when I got to shake his hand and get a photo with him. Infuriatingly I was so star struck (like he said he was meeting Johnny Cash!) that I just didn't know what to say...and rather beat myself up about it after, having missed such a golden, and likely never to be repeated opportunity. But the impression I got was that he wasn't retiring...and I felt rather hopeful of seeing more of his travels one day.

He is a very nice chap too, and I'm proud to have met him at least. Thank god my wife wasn't shy and got my 80 Days book signed!
