The Chatter Box : Blathering On
anti-semitism by spungin on 10 July 2014 12:15pm
i'm half way thru m. palin's second diary volume (covering 1982-83) and deriving vicarious enjoyment from the pleasure of being rich, famous and talented at a time when i was none of those things.
however, my pleasure has been much muted by the repeated and irrelevant identification of bystanders in m. palin's scribblings, as being "jewish".
the last time i saw this many pointless racist references was in gk chesterton. what should we infer?

Not having read his diaries it could be that among these 'bystanders' he has many Jewish friends. Does he write about them irreverently - in a Monty Python way?

Spungin, I'm Jewish, so I will look @ that again. It has been a while.
