The Chatter Box : Blathering On
Robin Williams / Lauren Bacall by Ken Dunn on 13 August 2014 1:12pm
A couple of good actors have passed away.

Here are a few one liners from Robin as published in today's Daily Mail:

I went to rehab in wine country, just to keep my options open.

Never pick a fight with an ugly person, they've got nothing to lose.

If it's the Psychic Network, why do they need the phone number?

Why do they call it rush hour when nothing moves?

If you are that depressed, reach out to someone and remember that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

RIP, Robin and Lauren.

I love the one liners!

I miss Robin Williams already. An actor who I will never forget. In the end, he taught us the ultimate lesson...NOTHING is bad or good enough to be worth dying over.

RIP Mr. Williams

I think the police gave far too much information about his suicide, it should have been sufficient to use the word asphyxiated and not go into the precise details. For his family's sake, details should have been kept private.

And then Shepherd Smith, has had to apologize for calling Robin Williams a coward. Shepherd Smith should have his ass kicked in public. Now I'd pay to see that.

I suppose suicide - a privilege for not weak-spirited perons. But depression is not reason enough to take advantage of the privilege.

loretto i see your point for sure but what is worse . knowing how the poor soul died or seeing the press speculate on the subject. i read this quote somewhere , 2014 how did we aggravate you ? you have taken so many good people

I agree, ItishManufan. But unfortunately this attention is a vicious circle. It is what the majority want, so the media gives it. There should be alterations to journalist/media ethics. Mass murderers should not have their pictures plastered on the front page, they certainly don't deserve the media attention. And suicides should be reported without the grisly details.

For relatives of people killed in mass murders, such as the theater killings in Aurora, or the families of victims of Sandyhook, and for relatives of suicide victims it must be horrific to have the read the details of their loved ones death in a newspaper depicting not only the tiniest of nuances but also pictures of killers. That shouldn't be allowed at all as it is a total invasion of privacy and makes a celebrity out of a mass murderer inviting copy cats.
