Missing : ( by Layla on 4 November 2003 12:48am
Help! Our beautiful black Labrador has gone missing! I know this has nothing to do with Michael but I was just wondering if any of yous have stories of lost dogs being reunited with their owners. It's such a hard time for us - he disapeared last Friday so tomorrow it'll be 4 days. I dread to think what has happened to him. I really hope he's OK.
I've put posters up,rang the police, posted in a local paper, rang the pound and the vet and am fresh out of ideas. Have yous any tips?
Sorry but somehow writing up here makes me feel a little better... : (

I'm so sorry Layla! I just started breeding Labs with a friend of mine for hunting and just about everyone in my family has one of our babies...(watercubs is the potential name for our fledgling kennel, if we ever manage to really get it going). Three quick questions...how old is he, is he usually a runner, and do you happen to have a ID chip in him?
Wish I could help...we've had a couple of them run off before...Good luck in finding your boy!

All the best

Hi, thanks for your kind messages, he's still not back. I'm now ringing the local Garda (police) stations... Max is 2 years old, and does have a microchip. He definitely loves to run, he's got tons of energy - he could be anywhere. We're sure he's lost as we think he would have wanting to come back by now. I really hope he comes back soon. My sister is only 11 and he's her best friend. It's almost like a human family member has gone missing.
We are hopefull we'll find him though...thanks again everyone...

hi layla, i really hope you find your dog soon. :)

i have been through the same experience with my dog toby, i took him for a walk when i was 14 and he suddenly ran off for no reason, i searched for him all day round our village and there was no sign of him. The next morning i started to look again and i found him walking around the wood near our house, it seemed like he was having fun, i certainly wasn't!! I carried him home crying my eyes out! I have never let him off his lead when i walk him since, i don't know what i would do without him!!

They usually come home, he is probably just exploring!! i really hope you find him and make a huge fudss of him when you do!!

I've had dogs run off on me.. they always came back because I had the food, and dogs hate being away from their pack.
He's probably testing out the treats and cookies the neighborhood has to offer. Does he have tags?
I'll keep him in my thoughts..
Yo! Dog! Get home! your mommy is worried sick about you!
be well,
He's back!!!! by Layla on 5 November 2003 6:56pm
I can't believe it - we got him back there about an hour ago. Some lady called the vet and said she saw a dog in a village about 10 miles from us! We went down and couldn't find him. Then we picked Siobhan ( my sis) up from school and went back again. My mam said she had a really strong feeling that he was there ( it's weird she always gets these 'feelings' and they're always right) and sure enough we found him then at a garage in the village! I just started crying we couldn't believe it! He's got paint on him, and has a bad limp, one lady says she thinks he got hit by a car. He's completely exhausted. He can't even eat yet. We are all delighted. Thanks everyone for your kind messages, we'll be bringing him to the vet soon!

(a very excited and happy) layla : )
