"The English contribution to world cuisine - the chip." Michael (the Polite Python) - brilliant website! First and foremost, thanks for all the laughs. I met you once before in San Francisco, hope to see you there again (`03?). Also, my folks went to England recently and saw you at Waterstones Cambridge for Sahara signing. It was back about `90 when I had a heck of a stomach ulcer I was trying to get over - and it must have been 80 Days that set me right - must have seen the series 200 times by now. Also - I've often wondered was it your Morgan parked in SF overnight near the Park Hyatt hotel while filming Full Circle near the Golden Gate bridge? Finally, I think it is Buddhist belief that the more one travels, the longer one lives, etc. PYTHONFANS: I think a detailed documentary of Michael taking us `round England where they filmed Python, with other Pythons popping in would be fascinating - no? And Michael, "it" was some excellent acting up there on the ladder wearing the horns. Thanks for it all. ([email protected]).

If you weren't aware, there actually is a documentary featuring MP and Terry Jones visiting the sites where they filmed "Holy Grail". It's on the special edition DVD of "Holy Grail". Quite good.

There is also a documentary called Pythonland, screened by the BBC a couple of years ago, where Michael revists scenes of sketches filmed in and around London: the Gas Man sketch, the beginning of the Ministry of Silly Walks and the Fish-Slapping Dance, amongst others.

Excellent programme.

Both programs already mentioned are great and very enjoyable!

I was amused (watching Pythonland) when Michael found it hard to believe he'd fallen such a long way into the water for the Fish-Slapping Dance. Of course, he takes another good fall into a body of water during the "Lifeboat Sketch" as well...LOL...

Never seen it! Never seen it !!

Dianne, had you seen it on TVNZ????????? Please don't say I've missed it..........:-{{{{{{{

Hmmmmmmm, I wonder how I could get hold of a copy?????????

Righto, BBC shop pronto, then BBC backcopies......... (Ellen marches off, then marches back again as she realises the computer is needed for the search to begin!!)

Looking for Pythonland?

I saw it as one of the tapes in a collection...it was a Python visual biography sort of thing. It had the actual "Life of Python" bio video and then the 30th anniversary special and Pythonland and a few other snippets. Can't recall anymore.

I'm not sure if this video set is available in NZ, Ellen, but that's where I saw it! (Available at library, of course. A&E.)

"Ahhh,Oh Dear..."

Forget the spam and have a hotdog instead........which is sort of spam in a long cylindrical shape anyway!!! :-}

As of yet my searches have been in vain :-{.

It looks like the collection you mentioned is US/Canada only and will not play on our machines here..... The story is the same for the individual titles :-{
But I havn't finished searching yet, so, fingers crossed! :-}

Iím sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but yes, the Pythonland programme was shown on TVNZ sometime in 1999. I remember watching it. It was in an episode celebrating 30 years of Monty Python. I have it on video as well as a set called Life of Python, which I ordered from Amazon.com. Thankfully, I have a VCR that plays both NTSC and PAL formats of videos so I can get videos from anywhere and play them.
