I was in Las Vegas about 15 years ago for 1 day, but it was spectacular. It was hot, too- 104 degrees fahrenheit, but it was so windy, you couldn't get too uncomortable. How much did you win, and which hotel did you stay at? We were in "Circus Circus", which is a good example of an accomodation from a parallel universe.

..managed to go to LV ...once in the late summer...hot, hot, hot...and once in February...all the pools and outdoor activities were closed as they thought it was too cold. best guess is to stay indoors which is where they want you anyway. lotsa luck. look for bargains food-wise at least.

I've been to Vegas a number of times. It's the best and worst of everything all once. I'm truly ashamed to say I love it, but I do. I love to gamble for small stakes at the craps and blackjack tables, but my favorite thing is just talking to the people. "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" by Hunter Thompson is an all-time favorite.

I visited Vegas back in 1994 for 5 nights by driving there from LA. The whole time I was there it was like 110f, a real killer. I have heard its changed quite a bit just in 10 years. All the fuss back then was that the MGM Grand was the biggest hotel and had the most rooms. This one is fairly down the list now.

If you get chance, fly over the Grand Canyon and drive to Hoover Dam. They are both fantantic sites to see, one natural and one man made. Also you can go white water rafting along the Colorada River.

I'm not a big gambler though managed to win about $900 just on the one arm bandits and of course kept on putting it back in till I lost the lot. I think a good way is to allocate a certain amount of dollars each night and keep your credit card locked away so you dont start using that to gamble.

You'll find there are no clocks in the casinos and they will keep plying you with free alcohol all the time you are gambling.

Other than that the evening shows are good and the themed hotels are great to walk round, shop etc. I stayed in the Excalibur where all the staff were dressed as medievil knights, Kings and jesters etc.

Have a cool time

Philson

I went to Las Vegas last October. It's a Disneyland for Adults! The Hotels (eg Luxor) are worth visiting for the entertainment inside.each new hotel has to be the best. Pick up a free guide to L.V.and you can work out the times to see all the free shows.

Went to Las Vegas back in 1996. Was on a tour across America, and had time for just an overnight stop at Vegas. Arrived in Vegas late afternoon and went straight to the airport for a flight over the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon - awesome, and well worth doing. And when the plane flew back into Vegas in the early evening the view of Vegas from above was spectacular - looking down on all those familiar sights of Vegas. Then it was back to the Strip (the main street along which most of the casinos are located), where we stayed up through the night to visit loads of casinos for the experience. I don't know if they still have all the cheap buffet restaurants in the casinos, but they were a really good deal when you're feeling peckish.

Las Vegas is one of those unique places that I think everyone should visit once in their lifetime.

Have a great time!
