New Palin Series GUARANTEED

Yes, it's the news we all wanted to hear, Michael is coming back. I shall now quote from a piece in the Radio Times (that's a TV guide for non Brits).
Ahem..'Michael Palin is in top level talks with the BBC to do another major TV series. Television executives were thrilled by his recent adventures in Sahara.'
"Michael, in his humurous and intelligent way, is adored by the audience, and I'm just about to meet him to talk about his next series." says BBC Controller of Factual Commissioning, Nicola Moody.
"There are still many areas of the world I would like to go to" says Michael "One in particular is the Middle East. I know it's not the place to go at the moment, but I'm fascinated by the whole area, right down to Jordan, Iran and Iraq. I think it would be interesting due to the political situation but also because of the history there"
Unquote.
Great news I'm sure you'll agree. |

I really hope that we won't be left down. I could watch Michael forever. I already miss him on the telly except last week when he appeared in the Peter Cook tribute and as usual was brilliant!! |

Wow, the man keeps on amazing me as usual...
As I am always up for another Palin series, I am a little conserned about that location in paticuliar becuase of the polictical situation. (Even though he just missed the fall of Russian Comunists by about a week in Pole to Pole)As interesting as it would be to learn more about these mysterious nations of the middle east, I would be devistated too see our poor Mr. Palin up to his neck in trouble... or even to a greater extent, six feet over his head if you know what I mean.
Alas, even though I am a bit of a skeptic on the idea, if he desides to go ahead with it, then I wish him all the blessings and luck in the world. He'll surley be in my thoughts and prayers. |

Alright, a new Michael series! Can't wait!
But...hey...didn't I voice my wish not long ago that he not go anywhere TOO dangerous????
Oh dear. Well, it would certainly be interesting if he went to the Middle East, but I do hope he's careful! :O\

OK, you got my attention, a new series alright. But are we surprised that this man could not sit still for too long. The thing is the amount of time that it takes to plan and then implement these things, we will be waiting at least a year or two. They say good things do come to those that wait.

It's in the new Radio Times, page 5, bottom corner.
Maybe those lucky people in Oz and NZ can ask Michael about it on his upcoming book signing trip. |

Excellent to hear of a proposed new trip. As they say, planning is 9/10 of the battle. Well, erm. .it sounds like something someone intelligent might say and I'm racking my brains who might have said it. Nope. Brain cell has failed to recall. Doh.
Anyway, scuse ramblings. I wonder if I could get involved as a researcher Mebbee I could contact the Beeb.
I agree that the Far East is a dangerous place at the mo. Situation may improve or deteriorate. And obviously the Beeb aren't going to send someone into a warzone (unless they are war correspondents that is or people with a deathwish).
I thought a nicer trip to make might be from the bottom of India, right through to the Himalayas. MP could eat lots of curried goat and washed down with a nice warm (ick!) tiger beer! yum. |
