DO NOT exceed 5 cups of coffee a day by tominator_49 on 4 August 2004 5:35pm

Last night for a dare, I drank 10 cups of coffee simultaneously. DON'T DO IT...I was really paranoid, wide awake, and sorta trembling. I also had a headache and an upset stomach, it lasted about 12 hours! DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!

You're probably suffering from 3rd degree burns from having scalding coffee poured down your chin & chest & maybe even your lap. I can't imagine trying to *hold* 10 cups of coffee simultaneously, much less succeeding in drinking them simultaneously! 8-)

Seriously, tho', while over-indulgence of anything is never good, most people who drink at least a moderate amount of coffee daily would probably not have the reaction you did. What you appear to have is a caffeine allergy:

IT WAS A ONE OFF...justa joke. And after 2 cups I went and made another 2 etc. I didn't make 10 at once, and it WASN'T scalding hot...only an idiot would drink 10 cups of scalding hot coffee ;)

I'm not a Coffee drinker really. But sometimes i do at work. The main disadvantage i find with Coffee, is that for all the instant energy it gives you. The next day you just feel exhausted. Caffeine burns up your reserve energy for that instant hit, but you feel exhausted the next day. It's an illusion.

If you want to quit the habit, you have to ween yourself off gradually - 80% of your usual consumption for a few days, then 60%, then 40%... If you just stop, you will get headaches that feel like your skull is imploding.

(Funny, though, I'm drinking some as I write!)
