Pole to Pole - To Flirt or not to flirt by Dianne on 19 January 2003 1:10pm

I would like to know if there are others who think the same way as I do or am I wrong? The programme is ‘Pole to Pole’ and the scene is Michael talking to a lighthouse keeper on a ship. Someone made the comment to me one day that the lighthouse keeper was flirting with Michael and for some reason I am convinced this is true. Why? Good question. Is my imagination running away with me or do others share my view? *Sounds of running feet as Dianne runs after her imagination*

I agree. She appeared foolish. Michael is so devoted to his Helen, a huge reason he is so very appealing. If he wasn't faithful, he'd lose his charm in a heartbeat.

You mean the man who suggests that Michael should go and relax with him on his lighthouse? ... Proves our hero has, er, universal appeal.

But who`s this woman?

Parapetetically - were you getting mixed up with the Russian woman in the small swimming pool on the ship with Michael? The lighthouse keeper was male. Louise knew whom I meant. Whom or is it who? It can be confusing sometimes. :-)

Yes, the woman in the swimming pool on the ship was a bit full on! I thought Michael handled her pretty well! No disrespect to Helen, of course, but I'm willing to supply a lighthouse OR a pool to test our theories, myself as guinea pig, naturally!
See ya ... Karen

Dianne-I can't believe that I am the foolish one! I haven't watched or read "Pole to Pole" in years, but I knew there was a scene in there which made me scratch my head in wonder...., so I just presumed, after all this time, that it was a female in question. Now that you have jogged my memory, I remember thinking the scene with the lighthouse keeper was "uncomfortable". I DO recall, as well, the woman in the pool, but can't really remember that scene totally, either. I think it's high time I watched those old journeys again. What do you think? Sorry for the misunderstanding on my part. But, yes, flirting took place. Michael handled it well.

Karen--I think our theories have been tested a gazillion times already. Believe me, there are woman out there who throw themselves at men, no pride, no qualms about making fools of themselves. But... I know the temptation is there for many of us!!

Hands up those who would love the chance to flirt with Michael? Confess! A few female TV interviewers have while on telly.

Psst! Do you blame them? :-D

parapetetically - don't worry about your mistake. We have all done it here or if not, will in the future. I almost pointed out a mistake Michael made in one of his video clips, but was lucky enough to find out in time, he did not make a mistake, it was me who got it wrong. I would have felt like a right fool. :-)

Dianne--Me too. Walked right up behind him and put my arms around him, he turned. I said, "Do you mind?", and he said, "No, not at all!"
