I was just wondering, and I thought I better ask for some suitable advice.... I really really want to go to the book signing in Carlisle on the 20th but I have to work! I am a teacher and we don't break up until the following week (cant come soon enough believe me!. Should I do what all my students do and bunk off for the day or do I go back to my folks in Cambridge on the pretence of seeing them and pop in to the signing there in the following week?? A little devil inside me says I should do both!! Would some nice Palinite or Mr Palin himself please advise me?? My partner thinks I'm bonkers but what the hell!!

Well Clare i am going to the one in cambridge - so if you went to that one we could meet up as fellow stalkers i mean palinites - i am going to see michael this thursday and december - are you going to the talk in decemeber too edith at daunts??
no you arent bonkers - perfectly normal palinite behaviour!!!! and perhaps show a good example to your students (bunk off!! i mean go to work!!)
how easy would it be to get time off to see michael twice - you only have one life you know!!

I'd take the class for an excusion.
That way you can see Mike and still abide by school rules! |

That is a great idea Izot...I wish my teachers were reading this.
And the only Edinburgh signing is during school time...:(

Hi Clare!
I don't want to seem like a party-pooper, but my advice would be to NOT take time off school to go and see Michael in Carlisle. I don't know how other parents feel, but I know I would be pretty angry if I found that my children's teachers were skipping lessons to see a celebrity (even if it is Michael!).
Do the right thing and go see him in Cambridge - seeing him once is better than not seeing him at all, and your conscience will be clear.
Regards,
Finnguy |
