The Chatter Box : Blathering On
SNL by peripatetically on 1 February 2003 2:56am
USA: Did anyone see Michael on SNL (Saturday Night Live) repeat yesterday afternoon in the USA? It was the skit where is played Hitler, a piano teacher leaching after Lisa Lubner and Mrs. Lubner. he introduced The Doobie Brosthers forthe musical act and did a few other skits too. He was so young. It's hard to believe so many years have passed.

I saw it and loved it except the fact that there wasn't enoughn Michael there should of been more skits with him..
As for the he was so young,I am so use to seeing him like that because of Python and all.But it was a little werid it was taped 2 years before I was born..

USA: I loved it!!! How much did I (and I know everyone else) wish that I was Jane Curtain in the piano teacher sketch? I think another episode with James Taylor is going to be on in a couple weeks, everyone check your local listings to make sure (in the USA, I'm not sure about anywhere else).

Ah, yes, me too! It was great!

I was really struck by the similarity between the format of the earlier shows and MPFC, which reminded me of how I'd read that SNL was inspired by the shows in a few Python books. I never saw much of a connection before yesterday.

I did miss the beginning, though, due to me forgetting about the time change. I tuned in just before it switched to Michael as "Hitler" in the "What if Superman was German?" sketch. Did I miss enough Michael to tape it again when it re-airs this February? Or did I catch most of it?

"You stir my manhood..." LOL! That was good. ;O)

USA: Mary, you tuned in at the exact same time I did. I just happened to be surfing and HEARD his voice. I clicked that tuner back so fast it would've made you spin like a top. So my answer as to whether you should tape it. Think of it this way--Can you EVER have enough of Michael? TAPE IT, is my suggestion!!

How many people out there have any of the CD's but MPFC? How many times can you play it in a row? How many have it memorized?

Patty, don't worry...I did already tape what I saw. I thought it put to use one of the blank video tapes I got for Christmas quite nicely. ;O)

Nice story about hearing Michael's voice and turning back...LOL. It's odd how that works. I shared a story some time back about how I was sitting in my Early Civilizations class, waiting for the projector/video to work, only to suddenly hear Terry Jones' voice. I nearly fell out of my chair! LOL! At first I thought I was dreaming or obsessed, but there's no mistaking that Welsh accent! Same thing's true for Michael (only, well, not the Welsh part!).

We'll have to tune in on the 19th to see if I missed anything important on that SNL show!
