another fan of Palin's Travels.... by Helen on 28 January 2005 3:51pm

.... thanks to ME!!! ME ME ME!

My friend Kim needed something to watch, as the majority of american television SUCKS so I suggested she watch the MP travel series. I started her with Full Circle.
She called me and told me she was so excited to have something this good to watch! I mean, she flipped!
She asked, how many more are there? I told her about P2P, HA, etc. She nearly fainted. Then, I told her about the books. That did it. She came over yesterday and cleaned me out.
Even her husband and daughter are getting into this great stuff too.
She wanted to know about Himalaya, and was so sad when I told her it was only on region 2. She said "I'm buying a region free DVD player, that's it." I'm right behind her-- if they don't release these puppies in region 1 format, I am NOT missing out..
dammit.
But anyway.....

Why didn't you start her off with ATWI80D?

I'm sure the 'will he/won't he' excitement would have made her an even bigger fan!

ah yes, I would have if I owned the whole series. I don't. I have two tapes that some *expletive* on amazon charged me WAY TOO MUCH for. I thought I was getting the whole set. Alas, no.
So, onward, my quest for the region free DVD player and ALL of series on DVD continues. Gotta save the pennies. I haven't even gone out for sushi in months.
Poorhouse, anyone?

But hot dangit will be soooo worth it.

I think she is a pretty big fan now anyway, I really don't think the order would have mattered much. She was hooked from minute one. She's a goner. :)

don't be sorry. I like talking badly about the jerk who ripped me off. I've done it several times on this very chatterbox...It feels good to just get it out sometimes...

Oh Helen how could you !!!! And you say that this Lady is your friend ?? You have got her hooked onto something that she will never be able to escape from. There should be warning labels just like on cigerettes that anything that involves MP is highly addictive and can cause people to loose all morals and turn into stalkers...just ask lyn hehehehe and we end up on this site like babbling idiots for hours and hours at a time. Dishes sit in the sink for days, clothes don,t get ironed for months, children go to school without lunches...Oh the horror!! I shudder to think what could happen if she gets introduced to MPFC. Does she know about Life of Brian ?? It could end up like a Alfred Hitchcock thriller..I can,t bare it any longer.

I know Mac, it's bad.
She does know of MPFC, and knows MP from the show...
our new mantra is: "my god, Michael-- don't eat THAT!"
---especially when he eats the lamb from the old woman at the train station in Peru.
--or the worms with guacamole, or the "stuff" in Ethiopia, etc etc.
