Oz/Kiwi Experiences by Sparkle on 3 February 2005 12:31am

Hi guys!

Off down under, but does anyone have any advice/tips on the Oz or Kiwi experience buses? Are they worthwhile?! Would love some feedback!

Yea I went to Oz in 2003 it was brilliant make sure you go to Brisbane that was my favourite place. Sydney is lovely around the Harbour but else where it isn't that special. I can't wait to go back though.

Hi,

I am currently in New Zealand and the experience buses are good, but can be slightly rushed. Make sure you give yourself ample time in each place, becuase there is always more than one thing to do. Try to stay away from Stray as they appear cheaper but most of the time you aren't on proper buses with no air conditioning and no music.
I am staying in Taupo and worth a visit to do bungies and skydives.

I have used the OZ bus and didn't realy enjoy the journeys' because most of the people I traveled with were very young and so hung over that they slept for hours. However if you are traveling alone its a good way to meet people. When I was in NZ I chipped in with some people I met in a hostel and bought a small van. This was great because we could go to the places that the Kiwi experience busses dont go. We even managed to sell the van for a small profit after using it for two months!

Hi Jess!

Hope you are enjoying your stay in NZ! Have yet to visit there myself.

My nephews live in Taupo - one was 18 months when my sister and her husband emigrated to Wanganui NZ about 30 years ago and one was born in NZ. The eldest one works for the Taupo Times as a printer.

My sister (she's 14 years older than me)(now widowed) still lives in Wanganui.

We have never visited NZ but apparently Taupo is lovely, and at present, according to my nephew, the lake is 'warm, great for swimming'!

Anne
