Great deal to London by Valarie on 20 February 2005 5:26am

If there are any Americans looking to go to London, I just found a great deal that is worth passing on. I just bought a roundtrip ticket to London from Portland, OR, including a 3-night hotel stay in Paddington, for $588 (that includes all taxes). That's amazing for Portland - usually you have to fly to SF or LA to take advantage of any deals. You have to leave by March 31, though. If anyone is interested, go here: http://www.frommers.com/articles/2642.html

London is becoming very hip again, I think now is the time to come to London, and Europe more than anywhere else. !

Enjoy your trip to London Valarie. Have you been here before? Paddington is very Central and you can get Buses direct to most of the sites

I was in London in Sept for the very first time and absolutely, totally, completely loved it. I've been itching to go back ever since because, even though I had 5 nights there, there were tons of things I still didn't get to see. And my previous trip was so hectic that I'd like some time to be able to wander around aimlessly and agenda-less.

You can come to London many times and not see everything.Remember,London is a very old city with a wealth of history.I also like to wander aimlessly around London sometimes.Always something new to see, changes, sometimes better ,sometimes worse.

I just started In Search of London by H.V. Morton. I think it was originally written in 1951, so it isn't very current, but it seems to really address that wealth of history you refer to in an elegant, accessible way.
