Discovering the website and Travels closer to home by ellenpc on 6 October 2002 7:37am

BRILLIANT....

Christmas has come early....

Sincere congratulations to the teams at Oil and Prominant for creating an amazing box of goodies to discover.

Mainly a BIG THANKYOU to you Michael for your honesty, integrity, sweat ,toil and for being the most entertaining travelling comic genius.

In honour of this discovery I'm going to buy my daughters an inflatable globe
(a la 80 Days) so they can 'feel' the journeys as well as following them on line.
We have enjoyed all the travels via the books, T.V ,videos; in fact I've been a Python/Palin fan since the 70's and once held the distinction of being the only girl in the Lower Fourth at boarding school who knew the words to not only the "Lumberjack Song" but also the "Sperm Song".Sadly it didn't bring popularity and I had to sit in my own pew at church!

Now after living in NZ for 20yrs I also hold the distinction of being an Englishwoman abroad who has never been to London. My NZ friends and collegues all seem to know London intimately and when others ask me what London is like I have to say" I've heard it's very interesting" and they look at me in total disbelief.

I did almost get to London. On the day my parents had to come to NZ House to arrange our emigration details I had a Latin grammer test ,my parents felt it was more important I stay at school and took my brother instead!! Can you believe it!!!

The irony of these ramblings are that I so enjoy watching you circumnavigate the globe in every direction

I just sang the lumberjack song to the amusement of a lot of girls the other day. And...

I'm a Roman Catholic
and I've been one since before I was born
And the one thing they say about Catholics is
they'll take you as soon as your warm

You don't have to be a six footer
you don't have to have a great brain
you don't have to have any clothes on your a Catholic the moment dad came

In other words, you aren't alone, but I have been to London, and you should go!

Ellen

P.S. Do you think the first gathering of the "Silly Songsters" could be held in London perhaps???

Just wondering...... :-}}}
