BVI/Stephanie by peripatetically on 22 February 2003 1:59am

Hey! I checked out your website and saw you were in the BVI's. I love it there. We were at Jost Van Dyke too, at the Soggy Dollar Bar and also went to Bomba's and Foxy's. We stayed at Long Bay Beach Resort, right on the beach , for a week. We sailed one day and snorkled a lot off various islands. Guess you hit The Baths at Virgin Gorda. We went on to Cooper Island too, among others. I liked Smuggler's Cove a lot, I have a pic of the shark prop. Did you make it to Cane Garden Bay? Very nice before the cruise ships let their people off. Then it's mobbed, but we arrived early and left late. If you go back to Tortola, try the Sugar Mill for food. Scrumptious!! Long Bay Beach Resort is, by far, the best resort on Tortola, and others who stopped by from other places admitted it to us. So we felt good about being in the right place. We'd like to stay on Virgin Gorda or Aneconda next. I've been to St. Thomas, too, but it's been more than 30 yrs. ago and also St. John, before it was developed as it is today. It's still nice, I hear. You mentioned so many places I've been, it really brought back memories. I had to run for my photos. We took tons, like you did. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Patty!

Glad to hear you've enjoyed the Virgin Islands too. :^)

I'd really like to see more of the BVI's. We have spent most of our time on St. Thomas (as that's where friends of ours live), and each time we've been there we've taken a day trip and sailed around in the BVI's. Haven't made it to Virgin Gorda, but we'd definitely like to do it some time. We've heard great things about it. Haven't been to Bomba's yet either, but that's definitely on our to-do list. Smuggler's Cove with the "Old Man and the Sea" props and stuff...perhaps Michael should have stopped there on the Hemingway Adventure. :^)

Steph., I mentioned the BVI and Smuggler's Cove to Michael before in a letter. Also Harry's New York Bar, in Paris, is a place Papa frequented too. I told him about both. That car of the Queen's was in "good" shape, wasn't it? What a relic!! Did you do any snorkeling there?

I really love the BVI's. Everything is so close. It's so undeveloped too, and I like that.

Hi Patty!

We did some snorkeling on St. Thomas and also at "The Indians" (two rock formations a ways offshore).

That's awesome that you metioned Smuggler's Cove in a letter to Michael. The Queen's car was something, that's for sure!

Take care,
Steph

White Bay off Jost van Dyke was gorgeous, wasn't it? I loved that little ring toss game too. And the Soggy Dollar. We bought tee-shirts there! They had little lizards on them.
