	Messages 1 2 3 4 5  This hopefully isn't necessary but... by Layla on 24 February 2003 4:57pm   I was just thinking that we might want to prepare ourselves for the (unlikely) event of some nasty peace-wrecker guy invading these pages. What I mean is, if somebody were to write intentionally insulting stuff on this message board to annoy/upset us then maybe we should all have agreed beforehand to not respond at all to any messages like that as no reaction would be the quickest way to get rid of the pest. I've seen this going on in other message boards and I'm sure yous have too, and the fact that it's so peaceful and friendly here is part of the reason why this is such a great site. I'm sure it will stay like this but just in case, we should maybe agree beforehand not to dignify any mean,rude messages with responses. It has happened at the other website I frequent, they are called "trolls.' Good netiquette is to do exactly as you have outlined-- ignore them- even if they personally attack you. I have seen trolls wreak havoc on otherwise peaceful and friendly sites-- name calling, starting trouble,giving false and misleading information, scam artists,etc. It can be quite upsetting! That was not nice! That's a troll. I remember us Palinites jumped down this "M.Palin"'s throat too! drove him outta town!! Whooppeeee! We are a bunch of wovable wapscallions here! It's always good to be prepared! :)I know I was completely unprepared when it happened to me and some other folks on another website, and I was quite upset about it. I wish I had known just to ignore them, it really is the best thing to do. I too have also experinced this sort of thing at many other boards as well. It is always best to ignore the post, or report them to the webmaster to have them removed ASAP.
